Sandbox
- Some change to kinetic weapons to "make them a little more unique"
Gambit
- Re-adding Cathedral of Scars
- Adding Shadow Legion and Lucent Hive enemy types
PvP
- There will be UI updates to the Obituary screen that will show the combination of players who killed you, rather than the one who dealt the killing blow.
New Special System
- Sometime after the launch of The Final Shape they will be replacing the current special ammo bar system in Crucible with a new "blended" design.
- Players will respawn each life with 1 kill worth of special ammo. This makes sure players never go long without special ammo in their gun, without making a surplus of ammo.
- Primary weapon final blows will drop a personal ammo brick that gives 1 kill worth of special ammo. This is a deterministic way of earning special ammo, but without allowing snowballing from special kills or abilities and supers.
- This system is planned to be replaced by a reworked special ammo meter system at some point in the future. They switched to this variant due to issues discovered with the current meter implementation.
- Crates will continue to be used, but their icon will show up at lower ranges than before, and only will grant one kill's worth of ammo. This is to let the ammo crates serve as points of interest in the map, but without being requirements to engage with to use special ammo.
Miscellaneous
- "large crafting related feature"
- TFS year will have more cinematic moments than any year of seasons.
- As per the Final Shape marketing page, two dungeons will still be released this year as well, sold as a dungeon key.

Power Level Rework
- As a warning, these leaks were likely shown sometime during Season of Plunder or Season of the Seraph, and they've explicitly said the power rework would not be coming until The Final Shape, and even that the form of the rework would be influenced by experiments during Lightfall. These details are very far from final, any and all of them could change.
- Power will become a single, account wide value
- Power is earned via "challenges" and XP
- Players can ignore power level for most activities, and can enter any activity at any level.
- Players no longer need to infuse gear, and can freely switch gear between characters
- Weekly and seasonal challenges grant whole power levels depending on difficulty (+1, +2, +3)
- Can also earn power levels by earning XP, you'll get +1 power level every 250k XP, which is deliberately high to try and encourage engaging with challenges
